Creative Ways to Say “Thank You”

[ad_1]

Thanksgiving Day comes once a year in the U.S., but every day there are people in our lives who deserve our thanks. Sometimes a simple “Thank you” is appropriate. At other times, it is more thoughtful to be creative in expressing appreciation. It’s just good business.

Here are some suggestions for thanking people at work, at home, and in the community.

1. When you say “Thank you” tell the person specifically what it is you appreciate and why you appreciate it. “Thank you for going to the Post Office for me. It saved me a lot of time.”

2. Send an e-mail note. When I sent a thank you note to my staff in the Pentagon, the energy level shot up.

3. Send a hand-written thank you note. These are noteworthy because so few of us take time to write and mail them.

4. Place an unexpected phone call just to say “Thank you.” Connecting verbally adds warmth to your appreciation even if you reach voice mail.

5. Present a small certificate. Half-page certificates take up less space if displayed and are as meaningful as full sized certificates. They tend to draw attention because they are different.

6. Give a single flower from your garden, flowerpot, or florist, with a verbal “Thank you” or a note.

7. Put a candy bar or piece of fruit on the desk of the person to be thanked, with or without a note. (Be sure the person is not on vacation!)

8. Bake some cookies. This is especially effective when men bake and present a few cookies in thanksgiving.

9. Say something nice about the recipient of your thanks to someone else when the person you appreciate can overhear you. This is especially powerful in a business setting.

10. For special occasions, present a US flag that has flown over the Capitol. It is a   unique , reasonably priced item which few people own. A certificate of authenticity is provided in honor of any special occasion you designate. Call your congressman’s office and ask for it. If you don’t have a local contact, call 202 224-3121 and ask for your congressman or congresswoman by name. When you reach that person’s office, ask to purchase a flag. They’ll know what to do!

SocialGo – Social Network Maker Review

[ad_1]

SocialGo is the answer for many today who wish to create their own professional-grade social network designed for their particular interest, business, or group. A social network is of course, a group of people united by their common cause, business, or interest. Thus it is a computer platform allowing users to customize their network according to the amount of privacy desired, assorted features and permissions. Permissions outline who may view personal information, or information regarded as secret or semi-secret to a company for example.

Who uses it? Various groups, entrepreneurs, and businesses utilize it. Their goal is often to being a community around their brand for instance, or to build customer meaningful relationships, or even to create a communication channel for the members of the network.

What’s special about it? Basically the fact that thousands of members have found that they can construct direct revenue streams from the network they create.

What can be in it? You can utilize this network for any text you wish to publish, as well as any photos or videos you wish to include.

What’s the difference from just a website? With this social network, people can of course read what you wish to write, but in addition they can respond to it. This allows people to become a part of the network, in that they can actually share and contribute to it.

How can one monetize this network? There are a number of ways to make money with it. For example if you provide a service, you may charge for the service. SocialGo supports PayPal for example for billing purposes. Another means of monetizing it is to host advertisements and charge the advertisers. This works very well if you have a very active network of course.

What if I need help? There are a number of ways to get help, such as joining the Owner’s Network, speak to sales agents, get a support ticket, etc. There are also a huge number of tutorials that are easy to read and follow.

What does it cost? The top of the line costs $149.99 per month, and it gives you anything that a business would need to create the best most attractive network for your brand, existing product or website. Or you can get a network starter account for only $4.99 per month. Then instead if you wish, you can get a free account if you are for instance a group of concerned mothers wishing to chat about the school your kids go to.

What else is available? There are a number of other services available, for instance sending out billing and collecting, removing all traces of the network on your site (known as white labeling), or separate storage and bandwidth blocks if you have an overly active large network.

How to Fight Cancer and Win – A Book Review

[ad_1]

How to Fight Cancer and Win is a book written by William L. Fischer.

You might find this book interesting and useful. Despite being published in 1992, it remains (as of this writing) among the top 20,000 sellers on a popular book-selling site.

William Fischer worked for pharmaceutical companies in Germany. He later became a writer on natural healing methods and has traveled far to learn the healing methods that exist in different cultures.

In his book, How to Fight Cancer and Win, William doesn’t advise you to ignore your oncologist’s treatment plan. He does, however, give you plenty of information on how to supplement your fight against cancer. Flaxseed oil is part of that advice.

There is the very popular Essiac Tea that a nurse name Rene Caisse used to treat thousands of people with cancer. She received the formula from the Obijiway Indians. It consists of herbs that you can find at your local health food store.

Fighting cancer can be a tough battle to win. I have met two people who believe they have beaten their cancer through a powerful system called Falun Dafa. You can read more about these gentle but powerful exercises on the FalunDafa.org website.

You can download a book filled with stories of people that have overcome all kinds of illness here: clearwisdom.net/emh/download/publications/health_index.html

If you know of someone who has cancer, perhaps you should let him or her know about these resources. This article is for information purposes only. Nothing in this article is intended to diagnose, treat or prescribe for any health condition. If you have or suspect you have a health condition, contact your physician immediately. That is especially so for something like cancer.

Stephen King’s Insomnia

[ad_1]

Stephen King’s Insomnia was first published in 1994 and like a number of King’s other novels, it is set in the state of Maine and in the fictional town of Derry. The genre of this book is not traditional horror but rather a supernatural or sci-fi thriller. Other aspects of the book are also somewhat unfamiliar to King’s normal offerings, firstly the book is very long at over 800 pages in length and also the main characters are all in their 60’s and older.

Even though Insomnia is in the supernatural or science fiction genre, King still manages to address a number of important issues whilst continuing uninterrupted with the book’s main story. Subjects such as abortion, domestic violence and women’s rights are all covered in such a way as not to detract from the entertaining storyline.

The plot of Stephen King’s Insomnia is rather slow to get going and things don’t really pick up pace until at least 100 pages in but this allows King to really create a cast of believable characters that the reader can empathize with throughout the novel. Ralph Roberts who is a retiree starts to have problems with insomnia and the condition deteriorates as he manages to get less and less sleep until he can’t sleep at all. Ralph starts to see things that aren’t able to be seen by other people such as people’s energy fields or ‘auras’ and alien beings that he calls ‘little bald doctors’ as a result of their appearance. Ralph also discovers that Lois Chasse, a woman he has feelings for is also able to see these alternate planes of reality and the alien creatures.

As with many of King’s books, one of the main themes of Insomnia is the fight of good versus evil and in this particular case the hero is Ralph Roberts who is a retired widower and a very ordinary and believable character who faces up against the Crimson King and his followers. There are a number of highly entertaining twists as King develops the plot, one in particular where Ralph is shown a piece of the future and has to make a life altering decision based on the vision, prompting the reader to question individual morality against self-preservation. As with many of King’s novels the ending isn’t all happiness however as the main protagonist is killed and is accompanied by the consoling remark that at last Ralph can rest.

Stephen King’s Insomnia had a very important part to play in the progression of King’s series of books because when Ralph defeats the Crimson King ultimately saving the life of the young boy Patrick Danville, it sets the direction for King’s Dark Tower series. Although the first novel in the Dark Tower series was published in 1982 and there were 3 books before Insomnia was even written, Insomnia introduces the reader to the pivotal character of Danville in the future Dark tower books.

Insomnia may not be a traditional Stephen King novel, it’s length, character composition and storyline pace are somewhat different to many of his other books, it is undoubtedly an enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining read.

Honest Riches Review

[ad_1]

Honest Riches is written by the internet marketing mogul Holly Mann. Her e-Book is a rather large, expansive work spanning over 95 pages. It was a very easy read for me, I breezed through the book with no problem while stopping at times to put her advice and tips to work. I have not read the earlier versions of the e-Book from past years, but I can tell you that this book is fantastic and was the very first e-Book I read when getting started with making money online. The latest version, Honest Riches 2007 is among the most up-to-date internet marketing e-Books on the market, which includes the most recent online trends.

The e-Book begins with some brief information on getting your online business started (tax preparation, virtual offices, etc.), then through the remainder of the e-Book goes over the following topics and more that are not listed:

  • Affiliates Marketing
  • Making Money Without a Website
  • Website Design
  • Advertising
  • Search Engine Optimization

The section I found most helpful through my readings, and direct application to my own endeavors was the Advertising section. It is a long, detailed section going over all of the top methods of advertisement through AdWords, article and link directory marketing. The information provided JUST in this section warrants the purchase price, as it is invaluable and only found in the top e-Books on the subject. When you pair this section with the rest of the e-Book, it is absolutely filled with priceless information that helped get me, along with 12,000 other readers going in the “game” that is internet money making.

The issue that I have with this e-Book is that many of its recommendations for other products/services aren’t exactly the cheapest of recommendations. This is a problem I see with many e-Books on the subject today, that they just throw out services that cost the reader way too much money, especially if they are reading the e-Book trying to get started without startup money.

Although the book was an easy to understand read for me and most other internet savvy people, it seems that the book targets those who already have experience in either sales, the internet or both. On this site, I consider this the best e-Book on Money Making due to its expansive detail on its topics, and its flaws are minimal. If someone truly has no experience on some basic sales and internet marketing techniques than I would not go with Honest Riches initially, I’d go for a more beginner suited e-Book like SEO Elite [http://projectc.myvnc.com/seoelite.html] or search for another alternative.

Sweeney Todd Musical

[ad_1]

Sweeney Todd also dubbed as the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is musical that has bagged the Tony Award owing to its   unique  story. It is an adaptation of the book of the same name that has been authored by Hugh Wheeler. The department of the music and lyrics has been dealt with by Stephen Sondheim. The story revolves around the 19th-century legend of Sweeney Todd and more so around the 1973 play of the same name by Christopher Bond.

The show was premiered on Broadway in the Uris Theatre in March of 1979. To date the musical has given 576 performances. Its story revolves around the character of Sweeney Todd who was earlier known as Benjamin Barker and who makes a return from Australia, where he has spent almost one and a half decade owing to false charges. After he learns some facts from Mrs. Lovett, who makes meat pies, that his wife had committed suicide after she had been raped by a Judge and it was that judge’s daughter who had imprisoned him, he becomes vindictive and promises himself revenge. Both of them conspire together, which is followed by a series of murders resulting first in a boom in business for Lovett’s shop and eventually tragedy.

It has had nineteen previews and has been directed and choreographed by Hal Prince and Larry Fuller respectively. In spite of starting on a poor note it went on to record huge success. It recorded its first U.S. national tour that started in October of 1980 in the state of Washington DC. It finished in August of the following year in the state of Los Angeles in California. Later a second tour was arranged that began in February of 1982 in Wilmington, Delaware and later ended in July of the same year in Toronto, Canada.

In the initial years of 2000, this play gained massive audience and critic acceptance in the tours that it did in collaboration with the opera companies spread all over United States and Canada. Bryn Terfel was seen in the lead role that he performed with excellence in Chicago in the year of 2002. It was also premiered at the Royal Opera House in London which was a part of the Royal Opera season. Other than that it has been performed a couple of times at the Israeli National Opera.

It was revived in 2004-05 both at the West End and the Broadway. Later during 2004 John Doyle was the director to another revival of this awesome musical that was staged in Newbury, England and was eventually relocated to the Trafalgar Studios and after that to the New Ambassadors Theatre. The non-mention of the musical instruments such as orchestra was notable and the actors featured played the score themselves. It was a first I almost eleven years. The entire production was relocated to the Broadway where it featured an all new cast including Michael Cerveris and Patti LuPone. It reopened in November of 2005 at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre where it gave almost four hundred performances. Like in London the cast played the instruments on their own. [ad_1]

It creeped up on you before you knew what happened. Maybe you were downsized and left with the decision to seek new employment or retire.

Perhaps you sought to remain in the workforce for a few more years, only to find out that the marketplace really changed for 50+ year olds. As a matter of fact, the good jobs for your age group, were gone.

How many of us Baby Boomers have experienced this or something similar? The realization of aging suddenly kicks in and it sucks!

What about the current lifestyle that we have become accustomed to? Are we going to have to cut back?

If we have a spouse in the workforce, what happens if the same thing happens to them? Don’t even want to think about that.

All of a sudden, the fear starts to set in and the scarcity mentality is in full gear. The house needs repairs and both cars are aging… How are we going to keep up?

Let’s put a stop to all of this right here and now. There is a course of action that will alleviate all of this. What is it?

What say we tap into the power of the internet and start our own online business. The entry fees are very low and the potential is unlimited.

There are no age barriers on the net. There will be no bosses on the web. We are in charge to build our business the way we would have it.

Second objection would probably go like this: “I have no clue as to what to do to earn money on the internet.” There is a training platform that will take care of that. Thousands are reaping the benefits and making money.

Third objection might be: “How do I know I can trust what you are saying?” That’s easy… Everything is wide open and transparent, as to what I am telling you.

  • Access around the engines is tight.
  • When taking the radar arch down for transport, the boat is prone to water leaks and electrical problems affecting the items on the arch. This will show as staining of the head linings in the saloon and dark discolouration of the cherry wood panels. To avoid the problem, ensure that the build up/break down is carried out by a professional when transporting the boat.
  • Metal blinds in the saloon can suffer from corrosion.
  • Cherry wood panels can “bloom” if the boat has had excess humidity. A white sheen will show behind the lacquer.

When buying a used Fairline Phantom 40, regular scheduled servicing and attention to some minor points will keep your craft in top condition.
